Abstract

This research aims to find out how expressive speech acts are in the Ziva 
Expressive Speech Act Magnolya and Tiara Andini edition of the Viniar 
podcast and to find out the relationship between expressive speech acts in the 
Ziva Magnolia and Tiara Andini edition of the Viniar Podcast with the 9th 
grade Middle School Response Text teaching materials KD 3.7 and 4.7. The 
method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The technique used is 
listening and writing. The types of expressive speech acts found in this 
research are (1) expressive speech acts of apology totaling 4 data, (2) 
expressive speech acts of saying thank you amounting to 5 data points, (3) 
expressive speech acts of praise, totaling 9 data points, (4) expressive 
expressive speech acts of blaming totaling 3 data, and (5) expressive speech 
acts of mocking totaling 8 data. This means that in the Ziva Magnolya and 
Tiara Andini edition of the Viniar video podcast broadcast on YouTube, 29 
pieces of data were found to use expressive speech acts. It is hoped that this 
research can become a reference for other researchers to study in more depth 
related to expressive speech acts in discourse analysis.
