Abstract

Literary works are expressions of personal human feelings, which can be experiences, thoughts, ideas, feelings, enthusiasm and beliefs which are packaged in the form of images of life to bring out the charm of language tools depicted in written form. The aim of this research is to determine the differences and similarities in a short story entitled "A Small Apocalypse on Border Island" by Fakhrunnas M.A. Jabbar and the short story "Cinta Ibu" by Harry B Kori'un. This research uses a comparative descriptive method with intertextual study which compares one literary work with another literary work. The short story entitled "Small Apocalypse on the Border of the Island" by Fakhrunnas M.A. Jabbar and the short story "Cinta Ibu" by Harry B Kori'un tell the story of the decline of human values and tell readers to be able to protect the natural surroundings
